Most of our tribal rugs like this Azeri Baku were woven in either Turkiye or Central Asia where the Turkic people lived. The motifs on this rug are quite uncommon for the region. The tree of life symbols are arranged in a sequence that also conveys the theme of determined escape.. This combination of artistry and symbolism not only highlights the weaver’s technical mastery but also offers a tangible connection to the region’s ancient spiritual heritage.
All our carpets and kilims are one-of-a-kind, hand-knotted or hand-woven with 100% hand spun wool pile. Color variation is called "Abrash" which is due to none-bleached wool's absorption of the dyes used or the carpet or kilim maybe woven with 2 different batches of dyed wool, which was available at the time.
If you like uniformity-a soulless item-these are not for you. These are the reminiscent of a disappearing art.
