#24460. This is one of the most beautiful tribal Gabbeh tree-of-life rugs that I have seen coming from the Ghashghai tribe in the Fars province of Persia. It was woven in the 1st half of 20th c. with Turkish double knots. They were always woven with bold colors and bold designs and used like a bed to sleep on. This one has so many beautiful figurines and different styles of tree-of-life designs.
All rugs have been hand selected from the regions that are classically famous for rug weaving. Unfortunately, the hand woven rug industry is seeing a decline with fewer and fewer hand weavers keeping up the profession as newer generations move into more advanced industries. As such, these one-of-a-kind rugs will become increasingly rare and are seen by many as collectibles.
