Here, (and/or Serapi) is one-of-a-kind Persian village rug woven in the Heriz style with beautiful color combination, especially the use of saffron around the central medallion, water cannel in the big boarder with tree-of-life motives all around. It must have been made for a special person or occasion because the motives are taken from all different styles, especially the fact that inner and outer borders have cross symbols (+). The center motives are dragons, good news birds, tulips and so on. It is truly a cross-cultural piece of art.
All rugs have been hand selected from the regions that are classically famous for rug weaving. Unfortunately, the hand woven rug industry is seeing a decline with fewer and fewer hand weavers keeping up the profession as newer generations move into more advanced industries. As such, these one-of-a-kind rugs will become increasingly rare and are seen by many as collectibles.
