Most of our tribal rugs like Kuba sumac were woven in the late 19th century either from Turkiye or Central Asia. Kuba sumack are the oldest sumack, so well-done by overlaying two different weaving styles in the beautiful piece below.
All our carpets and kilims are one-of-a-kind, hand-knotted or hand-woven with 100% hand spun wool pile. Color variation is called "Abrash" which is due to none-bleached wool's absorption of the dyes used or the carpet or kilim maybe woven with 2 different batches of dyed wool, which was available at the time.
If you like uniformity-a soulless item-these are not for you. These are the reminiscent of a disappearing art.
