#40288. Ladik. One of a kind Ladik woven in the 1st half of 20th c. with hand spun wool. The two medallions stand out beautifully because of the deep indigo blue field and caramel color in the borders and the medallions. This rug was probably commissioned by a well-doing person.
All rugs have been hand selected from the regions that are classically famous for rug weaving. Unfortunately, the hand woven rug industry is seeing a decline with fewer and fewer hand weavers keeping up the profession as newer generations move into more advanced industries. As such, these one-of-a-kind rugs will become increasingly rare and are seen by many as collectibles.
