Antique Shirazi Carpets, woven since the 16th century by tribes including the Qashqai and Khamseh, are distinguished by their unique tribal patterns and enduring rustic charm. These carpets skillfully incorporate symbolic motifs such as weeping willows, representing resilience; emblems of good fortune; and expressions of love, all conveying themes of joy and contentment deeply rooted in tribal culture. The meticulous hand-weaving techniques reflect centuries of tradition, while the natural dyes and robust wool offer both visual warmth and lasting durability. As a result, Antique Shirazi Carpets not only serve as beautiful decorative pieces but also as meaningful artifacts embodying rich cultural narratives and artisan heritage.
All our carpets and kilims are one-of-a-kind, hand-knotted or hand-woven with 100% hand spun wool pile. Color variation is called "Abrash" which is due to none-bleached wool's absorption of the dyes used or the carpet or kilim maybe woven with 2 different batches of dyed wool, which was available at the time.
If you like uniformity-a soulless item-these are not for you. These are the reminiscent of a disappearing art.
