This Tabriz rug is unique and distinctive from others of its kind. The patterns and colors of this particular rug are exceptionally uncommon. The border and corners of the main field are adorned with weeping willows, known to symbolize endurance, resilience, and emotional strength. These trees have the ability to withstand hardship and represent survival and rebirth. This antique Mesopotamian Tabriz rug boasts several nature-inspired symbols. With its origins dating back to the early 20th century, the rug's edges have been expertly bound. The balance of madder root, saffron, and indigo dyes is flawless.
All our carpets and kilims are one-of-a-kind, hand-knotted or hand-woven with 100% hand spun wool pile. Color variation is called "Abrash" which is due to none-bleached wool's absorption of the dyes used or the carpet or kilim maybe woven with 2 different batches of dyed wool, which was available at the time.
If you like uniformity-a soulless item-these are not for you. These are the reminiscent of a disappearing art.
