This exquisite Kars Kazak rug is crafted entirely from hand-spun wool and dyed with natural colors in southeastern Turkey. The intricate carving around certain patterns is applied post-weaving. The design features an eagle’s body symbolizing strength and protection, alongside dragon motifs, tulips, and the tree of life. Characteristic of Turkish carpets, the patterns are predominantly abstract and woven with the durable double-knot technique, known as the "Turkish knot." The rug offers a plush, dense texture with subtly muted tones, reflecting expert craftsmanship.
All our carpets and kilims are one-of-a-kind, hand-knotted or hand-woven with 100% hand spun wool pile. Color variation is called "Abrash" which is due to none-bleached wool's absorption of the dyes used or the carpet or kilim maybe woven with 2 different batches of dyed wool, which was available at the time.
If you like uniformity-a soulless item-these are not for you. These are the reminiscent of a disappearing art.
