This small accent room carpet is masterfully hand woven in Kayseri, a region celebrated for its distinguished weaving heritage. The rug has a beautiful field color of red obtained from madder root that grows in northwest of Turkey/Turkiye. Its design is enriched with intricate nature-inspired motifs, showcasing the traditional artistry and skilled craftsmanship of the area. Combining subtle elegance with durable materials, this vintage Kayseri rug offers both aesthetic appeal and lasting quality, making it an exceptional addition to any interior. Throughout the ages, civilizations such as the Hittites, Phrygians, Romans, Ottomans, and Armenians have all contributed to the unique culture of Kayseri.
Each of our carpets and kilims is unique, hand-knotted or hand-woven using 100% hand-spun wool. The color variations, known as "Abrash," result from the natural dye absorption of undyed wool or the use of two different dye lots available at the time of weaving. For those seeking uniformity, these pieces may not suit your taste. Instead, they stand as authentic examples of a vanishing craftsmanship tradition.
