This armchair is upholstered with fragments of tribal Elmadağ (Central Anatolian) kilim in Turkey. It is a very unique one-of-a-kind furniture. The kilim was originally woven to cover floors or divan (sleeping/sitting raised bench). Overtime, parts of the kilim gets damaged and the parts usable recycled by turning them into pillowcases or upholstery as it is done here.
it is all 100% hand spun mountain wool and hand woven in the early 20th c.
