As a product or industry expert, you may be interested to know that the CAUCASIAN SHIRVAN RUG has its origins in Western Central Asia. These handwoven rugs, once cherished by Turkic nomads as family heirlooms, are adorned with a variety of symbols representing love, protection, good news, and more. Each rug is unique and hand crafted using the finest Turkish double knotting technique, using 100% mountain wool. This particular rug, woven in the 21st century, is a testament to the enduring artistry of these rugs.
All our carpets and kilims are one-of-a-kind, hand-knotted or hand-woven with 100% hand spun wool pile. Color variation is called "Abrash" which is due to none-bleached wool's absorption of the dyes used or the carpet or kilim maybe woven with 2 different batches of dyed wool, which was available at the time.
If you like uniformity-a soulless item-these are not for you. These are the reminiscent of a disappearing art.
