Each chair is a truly unique, one-of-a-kind piece, representing the rich weaving heritage of early 20th-century Turkey. These kilims were originally crafted to cover floors or divans—raised benches used for sitting or sleeping—serving both functional and decorative purposes in nomadic and rural households. Over time, sections of the kilim naturally suffered wear and damage; however, the intact portions have been thoughtfully reclaimed and repurposed into pillowcases or upholstery, as exemplified in this chair. Made entirely from 100% hand-spun mountain wool and handwoven using traditional methods, this piece embodies the timeless craftsmanship and cultural stories of Anatolian artisans.
