This unique Turkish Kilim Stool serves as a specialized yoga seat, upholstered with carefully selected fragments of a tribal Erzurum kilim from Turkey. The kilim features delicate lotus flower symbols, which traditionally represent purity and rebirth, adding profound cultural significance to the piece. Originally, such kilims were woven to cover floors or divans—raised benches used for sitting or sleeping—serving practical and decorative functions within nomadic communities. Over time, portions of these textiles inevitably suffered wear and damage; however, the remaining usable fragments have been thoughtfully repurposed into pillowcases or furniture upholstery, as demonstrated in this chair. Crafted from 100% handspun mountain wool and handwoven in the early 20th century, this piece not only offers authentic artisanal quality but also preserves the rich weaving traditions of Anatolia, making it an exceptional and meaningful addition to any mindful living environment.
